The City Hall erected between 1561 and 1565 this Renaissance building incorporates both Flemish and Italian influences.

The voluptuous, baroque Brabo Fountain rises from a rough pile of rocks in the centre of the « Grote Markt ». Antwerp has a large old town area, parts of which go back to medieval times and even earlier.
